TALKS ON GLOBAL JOB OPPORTUNITIES FOR SKILLED, TALENTED KENYAN YOUTH

Monday, September 1, 2025(NAIROBI)__In a significant step towards bolstering overseas employment opportunities for Kenyan youth, Principal Secretary for Diaspora Affairs, Ms. Roseline K. Njogu, held a meeting with a delegation from Boston, USA.
The delegation, led by Ms. Anna Morry, the Director of Workforce Solutions, engaged in substantive discussions aimed at forging mutually beneficial partnerships.
The core of the dialogue centered on unlocking opportunities within the critical healthcare sector and other essential support services in the United States. PS Njogu took the opportunity to elaborate on the State Department's robust programmes designed to catalyze the creation of job opportunities across various sectors of the global economy.
She emphasized the government's commitment to leveraging the immense talent and skills of Kenyan youth to meet international labour demands while fostering professional growth.
A key area of mutual interest was the potential for skills and knowledge transfer, particularly in the specialized fields of assisted living and senior care. This discussion highlighted a pathway not only for employment but also for the professional development of Kenyan healthcare workers, ensuring they are equipped with world-class expertise.
The meeting was attended by Ms. Traci Larson, Ms. Rose Nguku, Ms. Lucy Waweru, Ms. Erin Huppert, Ms. Emy Floy, and officials from the State Department, including Ms. Irene Karari, Director and Head of the Skills and Expertise Division; Mr. Glens Etyang, D/OPS; and Mr. Ledama Meisashi, SFSO, underscoring the importance the Kenyan government places on this collaborative initiative.
