Tuesday, October 6, 2026(NAIROBI)__Diaspora Affairs Principal Secretary, Ms. Roseline K. Njogu, today accompanied H.E. Dr. Musalia Mudavadi, Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, during the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Diaspora matters between the Republic of Kenya and the Republic of Rwanda in Nairobi.

The MoU was signed between Dr. Mudavadi and Dr. Usta Kayitesi, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Republic of Rwanda and provides a framework for enhanced collaboration between the two countries on diaspora matters.

The signing of the Diaspora MoU is particularly significant in advancing cooperation on diaspora engagement and strengthening the already close people-to-people ties between Kenya and Rwanda. It also demonstrates the two countries’ shared commitment to leveraging their respective diasporas as important partners in national development and bilateral cooperation.

A total of eleven bilateral instruments and Memoranda of Understanding were signed, reflecting the shared commitment by Kenya and Rwanda to deepen cooperation across various sectors.

The conclusion of the 10th Session of the Kenya–Rwanda Joint Permanent Commission for Cooperation (JPCC) marked another important milestone in Kenya–Rwanda relations, reaffirming the two countries’ commitment to sustained dialogue, practical cooperation and stronger partnerships for the mutual benefit of their peoples.

Present at the event included Hon. Kipchumba Murkomen, Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration, Hon. Alice Wahome, Cabinet Secretary for Lands, Public Works, Housing and Urban Development, Eng. Eric Muuga, Cabinet Secretary for Water, Sanitation, and Irrigation and Ms. Dorcas Oduor, Kenya’s Attorney-General.
