Wednesday, June 17, 2026(NAIROBI)__The Principal Secretary for Diaspora Affairs, Ms. Roseline Kathure Njogu, CBS, today held a consultative meeting with the Teachers Service Commission (TSC) led by Chairperson, Dr. Jamleck Muturi John, and the Ag. CEO, Ms. Eveleen Mitei.
The meeting focused on the implementation of the Policy Framework for Teacher Engagement Outside Kenya, also known as Mwalimu Majuu, an initiative aimed at expanding global employment opportunities for Kenyan teachers.
The engagement reaffirmed the commitment of both institutions to strengthening labour mobility pathways for Kenyan teachers, enhancing their global competitiveness, and facilitating access to international teaching opportunities.
Discussions focused on operationalizing the Policy Framework, strengthening institutional collaboration, and establishing mechanisms to support the ethical, safe, and orderly placement of teachers in overseas labour markets.
The meeting also underscored the importance of safeguarding the welfare and rights of Kenyan teachers working abroad, promoting skills mobility, and leveraging international labour migration as a catalyst for knowledge exchange, remittance growth, and Kenya's socio-economic development.

Isaiya Kabira, Secretary for Diaspora Investments, Skills and Entrepreneurship, Ms. Irene Karari- Director, Skills and Expertise Division, among other officers from Diaspora Affairs.
