DIASPORA-LED KENYA-NEBRASKA AGRICULTURE, CORN AND BEEF, TRADE AND INVESTMENT CONFERENCE

Wednesday, September 3, 2025(NAIROBI, KENYA)__Diaspora Affairs PS Roseline K. Njogu, CBS, has reaffirmed the Government's commitment to deepen its collaboration with Kenyans abroad.

The PS added that this will help harness diaspora networks to mobilize expertise, improve investor due diligence, and advance responsible labour mobility for mutual benefit.

PS Njogu spoke at the Kenya-Nebraska Agriculture, Trade and Investment Conference in Nairobi—an event itself made possible by the efforts of Kenyans in Nebraska, showcasing the power of diaspora diplomacy. She highlighted Kenya's unique agro-ecological conditions and entrepreneurial farmers as the foundation for strong investment opportunities.

The conference also featured State Department of Trade PS, Ms. Regina Akoth Ombam, who pointed to Nebraska’s advanced beef production and agricultural technology as valuable models for Kenya to learn from and adapt.

This high-level meeting follows the yesterday signing of a landmark Labour Mobility and Diaspora Support Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Kenya and the State of Nebraska at State House-Nairobi. Nebraska Secretary of State Robert B. Evnen emphasized that the agreement will be mutually beneficial, enabling Kenyan talent to help fill critical sector shortages in Nebraska while strengthening international ties.

The conference not only strengthened trade and investment discussions but also showcased how diaspora-driven initiatives can serve as bridges of diplomacy, innovation and opportunity.
